Decoding the chromatin circuitry guiding stem cell fate, regeneration, and aging

The Flora Lab investigates how epigenetic mechanisms regulate stem cell function, tissue regeneration, and aging. By leveraging Drosophila, mammalian, in vitro, and ex vivo human model systems, we aim to uncover conserved gene regulatory circuits that sustain stem cell function and tissue homeostasis over time. Our work integrates genetics, genomics, and molecular biology to reveal how epigenetic regulation drives regeneration and whether disruptions in these pathways contribute to age-related decline in tissue health, with the ultimate goal of informing new strategies for regenerative medicine and healthy aging.
